SENIORS
Division 1 Men played the reigning premiers Daylesford at home. It was a goal fest in the first 20 minutes with the visitors scoring 3 and our boys 2. That was the score at half time. Daylesford proved too strong with two second half goals. Final score 2-5. Trent Moodley and Fintan Farrel scored the goals.
Division 1 Women were at home against Creswick on Trekardo. Playing a more attacking style we were rewarded at 18 minutes with a goal. Plenty of shots either end, both back lines kept very busy. Creswick scored with 10 minutes remaining and while the girls continued to create numerous chances the whistle ended the match 1-1. Rebekah Koerner scored our goal.
Division 2 Men played Daylesford as well. At half time the Saints were up 0-2. They scored 3 more in 30 minutes in the second half and it didn’t look good for our boys but two late goals put some respectability on the scoreboard ending with a 2-5 loss. Sam Peters and Connor Macdonald were the scorers.
UNDER 17’s
Ballarat SC got to play on the new pitch at Vic Park. This Vultures team is very strong and were simply too good for our boys. Final score 4-11 loss. Kayne Bedggood, Tanessia Munday, Darcy Bryant and Mikiyas Stevenson Chamings scored the goals.
Ballarat White went across town to take on BNUSC at Russell Square. This squad of 95% girls are playing really great soccer. They play with heart and passion each and every week. Special shout out to Elijah who is the only male in the team and does and outstanding job as both Keeper and Captain.
UNDER 15’s
Ballarat SC enjoyed a 6-3 win with Jake Frka having a field day scoring 5 goals, and a debut goal for new lad Eoghan Cleary. Some great play from the lads and brilliant forward play from the whole team. Great fun belting out the song at the end.
Ballarat Red went down 1-5 against Creswick. Up 1-0 early on thanks to an instant impact from new boy Eoghan Cleary. Creswick ended up being too strong but there were still some stand out performers including keeper Lachie Simper and midfielder Will Miller
UNDER 13’s
Despite being an away match, Ballarat SC was excited to play their first game at Trekardo Park in front of superbly vocal supporters. An entertaining and physical game finished in a 2-3 loss with Mia Frary bagging both. Bravery awards for Jack Taylor, Mitchell Sinclair, and Mia Frary, who all fought on after heavy knocks.
Ballarat White girls were beaten 0-10 by top of the table Creswick. Despite this they fought the game out until the end and even created a few chances of their own. Special mention to the defence for holding Creswick to just 3 goals in the second half.
UNDER 12’s
Had a big 10-3 win over Vic Park. Despite going one down early the boys didn’t drop their heads and with that found an equaliser not long after! From then on we had attack after attack as our plan was to move the ball forward at every opportunity. Special mention to Luke Irvin who one after another put some excellent crosses in from corners and the wing and even found the back of the net from a corner kick.
UNDER 11’s
Not sure of results and great efforts from the under 11’s but I am sure they did this club proud.
UNDER 9’s
Under 9 black had a much better game this week against a good team that was able to maintain its structure against us. Our guys were challenged by a side that could tackle well and cause us to lose possession. Fletcher played really well by holding his position and rebounding many times from deep in defence. Koby also showed some wonderful skills in heavy traffic when he was in possession.
Under 9 white also had an amazing game… Lots of goals, great team work and even better sportsmanship… Sportsmanship demonstrated by Charlie O. When an opposition player went down and he assisted getting up and patted him on the back in support and encourage him to keep going…. They played well as team and controlled the game.
UNDER 8’s
Well played U8 very good game against Creswick. Lots of shots at goal and good passing between players. We need to work on our tackles for the next game. Best on ground to Will for getting in some great kicks and Jensen for great tackles and passing.
That’s the Wrap!!
