2020: Round 4

It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for… Thanks to our brilliant sponsor ACR Creations!————————————–Round 4 Wrap

Well, as was expected I guess this is my 4th and possibly final wrap for season 2020 as we go into stage 3 lockdown once more. I feel sorry for the kids; it was great seeing them play the game they love for the club they love over the last four weeks.

– THE WRAP FROM WAZZA –

First up on Trekardo were our under 12 Girls.

They had a tough match against a very strong Vic Park boy’s team. The girls showed heaps of heart and played really well as a team. The visitors scored the first two goals in the first half but our little star Maddie Hawker got one back for us late in the first half. A quick pep talk from Coach Tim any many packets of skittles were had at the break and the girls went back out for the second half. Vic Park scored two more goals in the second half to take the match. Final score 1-4.

Following the girls were our Under 12 boys who took on Creswick.

The cougars were sitting on top of the table with our boys in second spot. This was a tough match and our boys took it right up to the opposition but couldn’t get the points. Final score 0-2.

Under 13 Open got to play on the beautiful new St Georges pitch #2 against the Vikings of course. The hosts got first blood in the 20th minute and took that lead into half time. In the second half the Vikings found the back of the net in the 30th then quickly after in the 32nd taking a 3 goal lead. But in the 40th Louis Pasakos got one back. Final Score 1-3.

Under 14 went across town to Russell Square to take on BNUSC and brought home the 3 points with a nice win. Rex Van Berkel scored the first goal in the 15th minute then Ricky McGinley got one across the line late in the half. Levi Fordham scored our 3rd early in the second half and the boys fought it out for the rest of the match. Final score 3-0.

Under 15 played the Ballarat City Girls on the synthetic at Morsehead. Raquel Layton was made captain for the day against her old club and led the team well with a great game. Mikyas Stevenson Chamming’s scored our first goal in the 17th minute then captain Raquel sent one sailing over the keepers head from outside the 18 yard box in the 22nd. Half time 2-0. Second half Mikyas scored again and Kane Bedggood as well to seal the deal with a win. Final Score 4-0.

Under 16 Girls

The whites played BNUSC at Russell Square. It only took 4 minutes for Tanessia Munday to score our first. The home side equalised in the 8th minute and it was a tough battle for the next 20 or so minutes until Rebekah Koerner scored her first in the 27th then Lucy Walters in the 32nd to take a comfortable half time lead. Both Rebekah and Lucy scored again in the second half to take the 3 points. Final score 5-1.

The Reds played Buninyong on the synthetic at Morsehead and all I can say is a big WOW. Brilliance on the turf is one way of putting it. Goal Scorers. Jorja Mentis with a double hat trick of six goals. Amelie Marshall 2, Llewellyn Nunes, Freyja Neihus and Bella Bogers 1 each. Final Score 11-0.

Under 17 played the Vikings on the new #1 pitch at St Georges Reserve. The boys started brilliant and Yuri Hoashi scored the first goal in the 4th minute. The hosts scored in the 19th and 27th to be one goal up at half time. The second half was a great game to watch with both teams playing some brilliant soccer but the gods that were watching over St Georges yesterday afternoon were simply not on our side as we had several close calls at goals but missed while the hosts got two over the line. Final Score 1-4.
