A few teams were going to miss out on their games today but the wonderful committee of this awesome club came to the rescue and organized some intraclub friendlies so the kids wouldn’t miss out on playing.

Under 16 Red girls. Under 13 Open, Under 12 White girls, Under 12 red boys, Under 11 Red open all got the chance to have a run.

Match 1 was between the U16 girls and the U12 girls on Trekardo #2 and let me tell you, those under 12 girls showed they are a very strong team as they scored the first 2 goals of the game stunning the older girls. The 16 girls ended up scoring two goals late in the match to level the score. All the girls enjoyed the game so much. Big thanks to Adam Bogers for refereeing this match.

Match 2 was a combined U11 red, U12 red and U13 open hit out over on Pleasant Street the same time as the girls. I didn’t get the chance to see any of the game but was told all the kids had an absolute ball.

To other game results…

– Under 14 Open – Came up against Daylesford. The visitors took first blood with a first half goal and took that lead into half time. We got one back in the second when Rex Vanberkel scored but the visitors managed to score two more before the end of the game. Final Result a 1-3 loss.

– Under 16 White Girls – Took on the girls from Buninyong today and had a great win. Every single player on the team scored at least one goal and special mention to Freyja Neihus for scoring a hat trick. This proves that these girls are a strong team and share the work around. Well done to coaches for their great work.

– Under 17 White – Took on Vic Park at Trekardo. Our boys had some missed opportunities in the first half and the Vultures got one through in the 34th minute to have the lead at half time. The second half was just as good as the first. The visitors scored one early (43rd) but some brilliant play from Tom Delaney who passed it off to Yuri Hoashi who then placed a perfect ball to Jack Sheehan for a goal 10 minutes later. It was end to end stuff from that point on and our boys battled hard. A strange decision and some bad luck saw the visitors score in the 75th and 80th to win the game. Final score 1-4.
