Hi readers… Miss me? ????
Wazza’s junior only wrap this week due to that dreadful virus they call Covid.
UNDER 17;
Ballarat SC took on Sebas at home. 5 goals pretty much gave us the points at half time but we sealed it with two more in the second half to win 7-0. Daniel Irving a hat trick plus 1, Eli Bolt 2 and Zach Ferrari 1.
Ballarat White went down the western to have a crack at Bacchus Marsh. Their new pitches are beautiful and i am hopeful we get to use the new facilities next time as Covid restrictions didn’t allow it. Oh, the game… Best game of the year from our girls (& Elijah) with a full squad the team battled hard for the full 80 minutes. A tactical change and a few positional moves at half time saw Freyja just centimetres away from scoring. Final score 0-14.
UNDER 15;
The derby, Connors Crew (Ballarat SC) V Walter & Braden’s young warriors (Ballarat Red)
The older more experienced SC came out on top 12-0. The reds are a young squad that should be playing under 14’s so they truly are champions and sticking with the game. Big shout out to the under 13’s who stepped up to fill numbers and to Walter and Braden for running the lines, a job that should be done by a parent as the poor coaches have enough on their plate on game days.
UNDER 13;
Ballarat SC had the bye.
Ballarat White got to play on the new pitches at Royal Park in Buninyong. Feedback was that it is a beautiful surface and the new facility will be superb when complete. The girls lost 0-5 but played a great game. Won many 50/50’s and passed the ball around well.
UNDER 12; Pretty sure this wonderful young team would have done very well against Creswick in the top of the table clash but i haven’t been given any results.
MINI ROOS
UNDER 11;
The team put up a resilient performance on the road against Bacchus Marsh creating chance after chance for much of the game. Special mention to Zephyr and Rainer for their creativity going forward.
UNDER 9;
A really competitive game in Creswick for the White’s.. Flynn, Baxter and Dusty played great games also a solid performance from Elwood . Passing game getting better each week..
Not sure how the Red’s went against Bacchus Marsh. Champions though the second they put on the red top.
UNDER 8;
Had a great game against Ballarat North. Great talking and passing and the tackles were very clean. Two goals each to Alex and Charlie L.
One final thing to extend on what I mentioned earlier about helping out. You do not have to be an expert on the rules of the game to run the line. The central referee is there to help you out. If you are not sure then check with them. The coaches are there to coach and develop your child to be the best player they can be and they cant do that running the lines (it is against the rules for lines people to coach while doing the job.) For the love of the game I urge you to help out. Organize with another parent to do half each.
That’s the wrap. Stay Covid safe.
It’s a grand old team we play for…………….
